Over the course of its general restoration, event lighting was also installed on the Murinsel (LED bars that illuminate the metal outer surface of the island with every possible changing light effect). This means the island is no longer lit up with flood lights from the shore, but illuminates itself. Throughout the Klanglicht weekend, a laser light wave, conceptualised by the visual artists of OchoReSotto, provided another unusual visual Mur experience downstream from the Murinsel towards the main bridge.
“Between reflection and imitation, water and light meet. Electromagnetic waves reproduce the natural movements of the river and are reflected in the currents of the river Mur. A new level of light beams and transparency is created in which reality and its depiction are blurred.” (Wolfgang Skerget City of Design – Coordinator)
